GEOMETRIC EXCESS

For this project I was originally inspired by Art Deco, 1920s style and mixing decorative elements with modern design.  
I wanted to create samples for the high-end high street market, like River Island or Zara. Clothes in these shops are high quality and follow catwalk trends, yet are still reasonably commercial. They also include statement pieces so their clothes stands out. 
The main trend I considered was maximalism and loud statement design. Gucci developed this trend with their collection of patterned power suits with heavy embellishment and this has influenced the high street. I also looked at Trend Union books for A/W 2019 which included 1920s design such as flapper girls with embellished clothes.
